The morning air was cool and refreshing as she took a deep breath and sighed softly to herself. A chorus of songbirds in a myriad of colors flitted from tree to tree filling the air with the sweet sounds of an early summer morning. The dew glistened like jewels on the grass… Will all of Dottie’s summer be as wonderful as this morning?
About the Author
Gladys Harris lives in the city in which she was born,Conway,Arkansas. She is a 29 year veteran school teacher in the South Conway County School District in Morrilton, Arkansas.She has a bachelor of science degree in journalism and a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. In 1997,Gladys was a graduate fellow in the Little Rock Writing Project at the UALR and has done graduate work in gifted ed and special ed at Arkansas State University and the University of Central Arkansas. Her poetry has been published in the Log Cabin Democrat and the International Library of Poetry. She and her husband Lonnie have four children Nicole, Adam, Daniel, and Felicia. They also have a son-in-law and grandson,Carol Lee Phillips,Jr. and Triston DeAndre Phillips. She and her husband enjoy singing, traveling across the U.S, and vacationing in tropical resorts. Gladys Harris is listed in the 2008-2009 Cambridge Who’s Who.
