About the Book
Foot Prints, published in 2010, was written by author J. Lambert Brown. The book is an autobiography that follows the life of Jim Brown, beginning in the early 1980s. The book is filled with stories of boyhood adventures and discoveries, as well as, rescue missions as a Paramedic throughout the 1990s. Foot Prints is a complete three part series, which encompasses the key periods of Jim’s life, chronologically formatted, through the age of 42. Clear Skies and No Posted Signs. The first chronicle inside the book Foot Prints is titled “Clear Skies and No Posted Signs.” These stories share the early years of Jim’s life, which were filled with outdoor adventures. It delivers an appreciation of nature that can only be seen through youthful eyes; time that had not yet technically evolved enough for cellular phones or GPS devices. You will find some of the stories here amazing, as they are far beyond the limits of what we would allow our children the latitude in today’s world. Before “Clear Skies And No Posted Signs” bridges to the second set of chronicles, it ends with the tribulations Jim begins to experience when reaching the crossroads of life that transitions to adulthood. It is a story that almost everyone can relate to in his or her own way. One that sets the foundation for all the tales in the manuscript to follow. Foot Prints of a Paramedic The second set of chronicles in the book Foot Prints, begins with the choices Jim makes at the crossroads in his life. Choices that created the tales shared in the writings titled, “Foot Prints of a Paramedic.” Here, true life stories of life-threatening and devastating emergencies are told as they are seen through the eyes of a paramedic. As the manuscript “Foot Prints of a Paramedic” motivates, the author hints at transitions experienced in his life. “The Charm of Ducks and Hogs,” the third and final set of chronicles inside the book Foot Prints is appropriately titled “The Charm of Ducks and Hogs.” In these stories, outdoor adventures experienced later in life are shared. They also relate how the experiences are enjoyed with the author’s son and daughter. In this final manuscript, the author shares the story of loss, which prompts a look back at time passed. And, for the first time, he begins to realize the days of youth have silently slipped away. In the final chapter, the author revivals something he has held close and gone without sharing before now. Something that will prove the only limitations we have are the ones we impose on ourselves.
