About the Author

I was born on December 2, 1959 in Yorktown, Virginia, the third child of four children born to George and Doris Herring. My family moved west in 1963 from Farrell, Pennsylvania and settled in San Diego, California. I grew up and completed my schooling in the community of Skyline a suburb on the southeastern side of San Diego, California. I began writing poetry while attending Samuel F. B. Morse High School and I graduated with the class of 1978. After high school I attended San Diego Mesa College to run track and study art. After two years, I dropped out of college to get a job as my fi rst child was on the way. After marriage, two more children and divorce, all my creative projects were put on hold. Now some thirty years later, in this year of 2010 I plan to complete those projects. Not only a rising poet I am a outstanding visual artist too. I am the father of three wonderful children Ronnelle, Breona and Marcus. In 2005 I left California and I currently reside in Florida.
