About the Book

The poems are a grand mix of serious and crazy—each with genuine praise-for-God intent. They cover quite a range of themes. Nature, science, psychology, and even politics are scrutinized. Keep your vocabulary sharp and your imagination intact. I intended this work to boost your faith and increase your love of God. I believe God has a marvelous sense of humor; hopefully yours will be activated as you partake of these cheerful expressions of appreciation for Jesus. The pictures are from original watercolor paintings I have done, each extols the natural handiwork of God!

About the Author

Curt La Sage, Jr. grew up in Omro, a small, rural town in central Wisconsin. He cannot remember not being a “flower nut.” He attended, and ultimately graduated with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. In 1966 he married his college sweetheart, Lois, who became the mother of their three now grown youngsters, Jeremy, Jenny, and Jason. Anyone who has the right mate and the right God is blessed! They are also blessed by having five grandchildren, one on the way, and no end in sight. This has brought many “babysitting opportunities” which have enhanced great bonding therein. For thirty-three years he taught middle school students in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, near Milwaukee. Though he taught many subjects, he particularly enjoyed, science and creative writing – surprise! He is an active member of Kingdom of Heaven Christian Ministries, a non-denominational church based in Milwaukee. Pastor James Paden was a very dear spiritual counselor and friend for years before he went to heaven. Now Pastor Deborah Paden has that pastoral mantle. That is why they are personally honored in a few of the poems. They have not conducted “church as usual.” It has been more of a Spirit-led Bible college as might be reflected in some of the praise poetry. Watch out what vocabulary you use if you are around this guy. The right word could kick off a poem that keeps him awake for hours in the middle of the night, probing poetic possibilities!
