About the Author

Jeff Fogel lives in New Hampshire with his wife, two daughters, and large, unkempt dog. His infatuation with sailing began as a middle-schooler, on Lake Skaneateles, in a wooden Lightning. Thirty years later he bought his first sailboat, a Scandinavian Folkboat. Four boats later, and immeasurable time and money, he can personally attest to Rat’s wisdom in Wind in the Willows, “. . . there is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats . . .”
