About the Book

Since my second book, " Words of Serenity", so much has happened. We became Great-Grand Parents in December 2010 and Grand-Parents, (#16), two months later, both babies from the same family! Our babies, babies are having babies. Also , I have been hospitalized a couple of times, both somewhat major surgeries, plus more surgeries to be done on my eyes during this summer (2011). So I hope that you will all keep me in your prayers, as you are in mine. As you peruse this book, you will see a "story" titled Pepper & Lucky were #'s 14 and 15 of animals we have lost. We have 2 cats left, Blaze, aka Killer, and Kitty Duval, aka Miss Kitty, both strays that we took in. They will probably be the last. It just hurts too much when you lose them, after all, they are like our children too!! In closing, I hope you enjoy this book. It will probably be my last, ( the old peepers 'ain't' what they used to be). It is also my prayer that these "Words From My Heart" will, in some way, comfort you, make you laugh, or maybe cry, but in the end, ease your pain in some small way. It has eased my pain to be able to write them, with God's help, for your enjoyment.

About the Author

Just a little bit about me…… I was born in December, 1946, in Moultrie, GA, but was raised in South Florida, to parents of German (mother), Irish and American Indian (father), descent. Fifth of six children, I left home at age sixteen, to “Conquer the World“. I’ve held many job positions, from waitress to business office supervisor, but retired from the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, Starke, FL, in 2003. My husband, Donald, and I met in 1978, when he was my Platoon Sgt. In the army national guard, however, we did not marry until almost twenty-four years later, (I wasn’t through “Conquering the World“!). We have six children between us, but none together, and fourteen grandchildren, all of whom we adore. Writing, whether it be poetry, song lyrics or short stories, has always been a passion of mine. It was also my mother’s passion so I suppose I inherited it from her, however, God gave me whatever, if any, talent I have. That talent lay dormant for nearly thirty years, (while I was “Conquering the World“), and has only resurfaced in the past two years. I was always an avid reader until my eyesight started deteriorating. My husband and I live in a small, modest home at Kingsley Lake, just outside of Starke, FL, which is located about half way between the college town of Gainesville, and the big city of Jacksonville, FL. We enjoy, camping, fishing, yard work, family and numerous friends.
