About the Author

Hans Karl Paladini has a B.S. in Economics from St. Mary’s College of California and a Masters of Arts from Concordia University in Irvine. He is a soccer coach and educator by profession. He is well traveled and spent much time in countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France as well as the Ukraine. Always having a wanderlust and desire to see new places and meet new people, coupled with the fact that he is a student of history, he was drawn to the Ukraine to find out how life was in the Soviet Union. By a twist of fate he got his opportunity in the spring of 2009 and stayed in Ukraine for about eight months. He returned in the winter of 2010 and currently lives with his wife Kristina in Northern California.
