About A Journey of Faith in Prayer A Journey of Faith in Prayer is a book of poetry that began as a process of healing. It speaks of the inner journey of a soul connecting with God through creation and God’s creatures. It takes into consideration the plight of souls as they journey to God, meeting God through nature and other people. It empathizes with others on their journey as well as the soul’s own journey, knowing that belief in the power of God will heal all pain.
About the Author
Magdala Marie Gilbert, OSP is an Oblate Sister of Providence. She resides at the Oblate Sisters of Providence Motherhouse in Catonsville, Maryland. She is the Director of Religious Education at Historic St. Francis Xavier Parish in Baltimore City. She is a member of the National Black Sisters Conference (NBSC), Director of the Mother Mary Lange Guild, an active member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Knights of Peter Claver: Mother Elizabeth Lange Court # 323 and Chaired the NRVC Black Religious Standing Committee. Magdala Marie taught many years on the Elementary School and High School levels. Sister has been Vocation and Formation Director for her Congregation as well. She has written numerous articles for the Catholic Review, the Catholic newspaper for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Each year she writes articles for the “Keep on Teaching” booklet and has articles in the book “What We Have Seen and Heard,” published by the Office of African American Catholic Ministries. She has written a booklet about Mother Mary Lange, OSP called, “One Who Dared, Mary Lange: A Short Portrait,” four booklets of poetry. and “A Tribute to Mother Mary Lange and the Oblate Sisters of Providence.”
