About the Book

This book is “by product” of me managing the “balancing act” of “juggling” a struggling life, through the “wake” and “walk” of seeking and seeing God’s majesty. Learning the mysteries, through my spiritual experiences with Focus and Faith Ministries and the International House of Prayer, I Dare You to Pray, is the manisfestation of how I learned to apply prayer and the Word of God in my life. Even more so, standing in the Pastoral Gap at New Revelation Christian Center, I recognized the need for God’s people to truly catch hold to a real prayer life, with realistic applications. This book is a guide or teaching tool to help develop or supplement your prayer life or at least navigate you through some specific types and areas of prayers to encourage and strengthen your “walk”. You should see the significance of prayer in the Word of God, and even how important and necessary it was to Jesus. Let this begin your research of the importance, power and purpose of prayer. I Dare You to Pray, is simply a challenge presented to you as an opportunity to see the hand of the Lord and His salvation in whatever your situation may be.

About the Author

Reading and writing have been a passion for me since I was a little girl. My mother stressed and encouraged them both. As so is its purpose, it became a means of expressing my inner most thoughts and feeling. When I can’t say “it” I write “it”, even my prayers. I remember one time I wanted to pray for our Thanksgiving Dinner one year and my mother told me to write it down first. I learned how to write my prayers before praying my prayers. Being raised in the church I developed a yearning and strong desire for the Lord, at an early age. In-spite of my life’s twists, turns and detours, I continued to “press toward the mark.” Raising 3 children as a single parent for the better part of 21 years of their lives’, I learned how to pray and depend on God. “Leaning on the Everlasting Arm” became real to me. I learned how to watch and wait with expectation of prayers being answered, (in due season.) Growing up the only girl of five boys, I developed an attitude of willingness to accept challenges with the expectation of accomplishing that task or if at all fail, fail through trying. With that mind set, any time some said “You Can’t” I set out to show them, “I Can.” I did graduate for M.B. Lamar High School with honors, I did receive a Bachelors Degree with honors ( on the Deans’ List) from Texas Southern University. I did complete my Teacher’s Certification. I did teach Reading and English. I did raise my boys to be successful men and my daughter to be a “Lady.” I did make it. But not by myself, “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phillippians 4:13. Through my joys and struggles, the birth of this book has been thwarted from seeing the manisfestation of the Word of God through prayer. John 14 is my Insurance Policy. 13.“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father m”ay be glorified in the Son. 14. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.
