IN PRAISE OF HIM

About the Book

The poems and verses in this book are written to give glory, honor, and praise to God our Father, and to Jesus Christ, his son. Through them and in them is revealed all the wonderment of God; all that he is, his love, his mercy, his grace, his kindness, his sovereignty, his power, and majesty. Mere words cannot express the greatness and the goodness of God. Nevertheless, to that end these writings are done, that God be exalted, magnified and glorified. My hope and prayer is that something written herein might point someone to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

About the Author

In the year 1987, I was attending a weekly bible study with my daughter Cheryl. We were in the home of a fellow Christian, a precious woman of God, who has since gone home to be with the Lord . While in discussion, she suddenly turned to me with a word of knowledge and said, “You are going to write a poem”. I was surprised and replied to her, “ who me”? She answered , “yes you”. I thought no more about it. Several nights later, as I lay in bed, I was awakened by a voice (the Holy Spirit) that spoke to me and said, “take paper and pen and write”. My thought was this is the middle of the night and no time to be writing. My response to Holy Spirit was ,Lord what shall I write? Write what? The voice said again write. So I took paper and pen and prepared to write. I could think of only one word…..praise. Nothing else came to mind. As I began to write, to my amazement, words of praise and worship to God literally poured out of my spirit. I had written my fi rst poem entitled “Praise”. I know it is God’s gift to me, to be used to give him glory and to make known to others all about our God.
