About the Book

My first book is like a journal of the day-to-day events that occurred in the family while I and others cared for my father, mother and brother since 2010. This is not a memoir. This is a true life journal. The stories are real. The people are still living except my brother who passed away May 25, 2013.

About the Author

Natasha M. Shamone-Gilmore was born in 1953 as Brenda Faye Brunson. Shamone-Gilmore is a caregiver and took on the care of her father in 2010, later to assist with the care of her mother and brother. Shamone-Gilmore is a motivational speaker, a singing author, and community advocate. Shamone-Gilmore lives in Prince George's County with her husband Curtis. Shamone-Gilmore is surrounded by their children, grand-children and great great grand. The family has a loving dog named "Sugar". Natasha Shamone-Gilmore attended D.C. Public Schools and graduated from Suitland High School in 1972. Natasha lived in California for twelve years before returning back to the Washington Metropolitan area. Natasha is connected to the Douglas family, the Brunson-McDonald family, the Kersey-Douglas family and the G.E.M.S. Shamone-Gilmore recieved Masters credits from USDA, the Graduate school, her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Columbia Union College. Shamone-Gilmore is a International Toastmaster, a Proctor, and has earned a host of certificates and certifications. Shamone-Gilmore has occupied such positions as Executive Director, Program Manager, Industrial Trainer, Caseworker, Vocational Counselor, Career Counselor, Academic Advisor, Editorial Assistant, Information Management Specialist, Community Outreach Supervisor, and more. Shamone-Gilmore is a former candidate in the 2010 Gubernatorial elections for County Council, District 7, Prince George's County, the former President of the B.R.W. Civic Association in Capitol Heights, Maryland, former CEO of Brighter Visions Consulting Group, Inc. Shamone-Gilmore loves the Lord.
