About the Book

Have you ever been riding along life’s highway, no bumps in the road, no traffic in front of you, just cruising, when out of nowhere...DING!  or, perhaps, BAM!  Things are turned upside down.  North is south, south is east, and west can’t be found.  Such is the case for Khalil, a multi-million dollar rapper who’s life at this point has been a real bowl of cherries.  While being interviewed by a writer freelancing for a national magazine, Khalil discovers that his childhood friend, Justin (J.D.) was recently released from prison.  Now, Khalil and J.D. grew up together and stayed in contact, but with his business ventures weighing on his time, Khalil had not been in contact with J.D. as much as he had when J.D. was first incarcerated for intent to distribute drugs.

Khalil is at a swank party in downtown New Orleans being thrown in his honor, when he finds out that J.D. is on the loose.  Suddenly, just like in their childhood whenever J.D. was around, things start going wrong.  And before he knows it, Khalil has to make decisions that border on breaking, if not severely bending the law.
