About the Book

Darlene and Sassy came back from an adventurous afternoon walk. They were both famished and needed something to eat. There was an accident and Sassy was on her own to find a way to fix it. She went through some funny mishaps and in the end Darlene and Sassy learn that eating together is the best way to end the day.

About the Author

Shelly Thiessen Banman was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in 1968 and lived on a dairy farm by Warman. At the age of nine years, her parents moved the family to northern Alberta, to a small Mennonite farming community called La Crete. Shelly grew up as the fourth oldest child of nine, six brothers and two sisters. Her passion growing up was animals and especially horses. When she was seventeen she met the love of her life and had a family not too long after. She still lives near La Crete and has five of her own children and a grandchild. Her favorite pastimes now are being with family, acting and writing. She works for the community school division as a bus driver and an educational assistant but what she enjoys most is making people laugh.
