About the Book

What Happened to the Teacher’s Pet? was written as an inspirational tool to motivate teachers to teach from a perspective of passion for overall student success. Too often, society is allowed to dictate the “state of our students” and cast blame for substandard performance and failure onto the students, their choices, or their abilities. This book addresses the concept of that attitude which actually does reflect leadership. It points out the truth that lies behind our students’ so-called problems and discredits some typically misguided reasons why students cannot or will not learn. All in all, this book is dedicated to encourage teachers to teach like they mean it and believe in themselves.

About the Author

Charvette Yvonne Jones, EdS is originally from Toledo, Ohio where she began her teaching career and, in part, raised her twenty year old daughter; who is currently pursuing a degree in psychology. During her twenty-five years teaching, Charvette has taught, inspired, and has been equally motivated by students from preschool to middle school aged. Her teaching career spans across the states of Ohio, Georgia, Alabama, and Kentucky, and has afforded a diverse insight into the “art” of not just teaching, but reaching our youth. She is committed to overall student success fueled by educators who lead with true passion for their profession. In addition to teaching, Charvette, is a trained, classical ballerina of 18 years, a gymnast, cheerleader, motivational/inspirational speaker, poet, and advocate for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis.
