To you, dear friend and reader: The sky never permanently loses its blue Nor the heart the love within you That shines out to illumine its own And shield it from the rough stone Experiences needed to round out a young life Sometimes come mixed with strife But the parent heart with love never failing Knows how to calm the waters for smoother sailing Until young lessons have been learned And expanded growth is discerned The seedling cannot remain the same It must move with life’s weather vane And learn to follow its own signature key A different pattern than the one for you or me It is love that is ever the winner For truly no one is a sinner We are all just trying to be Deep within the longing for harmony You have the magic of knowledgeable years Laced with joys, fears, and tears Which, when you become inwardly reflective Assume their proper perspective Then you can’t help but smile with tender amusement at the glorious game of life
