About the Author

Jeff Necessary (yes, that is a real name) hails from a small town in Southwestern Virginia. His early life was completely consumed by sports, where he found great success. After being selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the amateur baseball draft, Necessary declined the Pirates’ lucrative offer and attended King University, Bristol, Tennessee. A two-time all-American baseball player while at King, he was inducted into the King University Hall of Fame in 2014. Teaching primarily current events and civics in recent years, students have become accustomed to hearing Necessary frequently say, “I cannot remember having a better day.” It takes a very short time for students to see that those are not merely words.
