About the Author

Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate studied anthropology—cultural, physical, archaeology, and linguistics—at the University of Arizona. She did her student teaching on an Indian reservation. For her PhD studies, she pursued a degree in Germanic linguistics and Germanic folklore at the University of California–Berkley and at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She has published academic articles and poetry in numerous magazines, has presented papers of anthropological nature at a variety of academic conferences, and is the author of Tales and Bedtime Stories, The Muddy Little Bell, The Lucia Rider, Stepping through Time (a poetic rendition), Fathers Can Be Good Dads (a novel), Dance around the Treasure Box, and Two Summers of Adjustment. She is currently working on a couple of novelettes entitled “Out of Balance,” a selection of poetry: “Through a Lifetime Part I: Poetry in German,” “Through a Lifetime Part II: Poetry in English,” and memoires: “There Were Many of Us on Three Continents—Memoirs of Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate.”
