About the Book

Toby & Me is an inspiring book about two young boys who are best friends. One is black, and one is white. They don’t understand the concept of racial prejudice as they play and love spending time together. They get deeply saddened and depressed at the negative treatment and name-calling that they receive because of their great and open love for each other. They know skin color does not matter, and they wish the world could be as wise as they are. Their relationship is model behavior for human interaction for all people with any kind of differences. They talk about Martin Luther King and everything he stood for as they hang out up in their tree house. They want to teach the world how things really ought to be!

About the Author

Laurie Diane Hornsby is the mother of five children. She dearly loves all children, with her own at the top! She has always had an intense interest in writing and specifically in children’s books. After reading many books to her own kids, she gained a great desire and appreciation in writing children’s books herself. She loves to write for children and has written many special books that are loved by all! She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.
