About the Book
The book is about the great issues—life, death, love, time, and eternity. I was raised Roman Catholic, and Catholic images sometimes appear in my poems. I am also a patriotic American and a Maryland poet, and these come out in my work at times as well. The issues of identity and aloneness are also part and parcel of who I am.
About the Author
I was born in Baltimore, MD in 1952, and have lived my entire life in Maryland. I started writing poetry in earnest over thirty years ago, and wanted to portray my life and interests to others in my work. I love poetry; history and wanted to also tell several stories--my wife of 30 years who died slowly over a period of 25 years of various ailments; my internal life, fraught with rejection and the inescapable feeling of being somehow outside the sphere of human life--always looking in at the happiness of others and never being allowed to share that happiness. My poetry is my statement of these things.
