About the Book

Newberry knew everyone was watching. His tummy was upset now, and his head hurt again. He was determined to fly to the top of the family tree. He started running—flap, flap, flap, flap—and he lifted from the ground. Flap, flap, flap. He freely flew, climbed to the top of the tree, and landed. Everyone cheered, and Newberry waved.

About the Author

I’m originally from Philadelphia and now living in North Carolina. This is my first book and it explores the challenges one faces when their path in life becomes different than what they had anticipated. How do we overcome unexpected obstacles and still thrive? As a Communications major and Psychology minor while attending Temple University, I’ve always been intrigued by the dynamics of social interaction. If we are lucky, we find out that we are so much more alike than we are different. I currently work as a technical recruiter and graphic tee shirt maker. Both were unforeseen paths for me, but each provides me with the chance to help others continue on their own path or to make a personal statement. I’ve played disc golf for over 35 years. My next book, Yumi, further explores this theme. It also invites the reader into an interactive world where they can create their own Yumi. Thank you, Karlton Taylor
