About the Book
From the Heart is a book of poetry I have written during my four-year battle of cirrhosis of the liver, hepatic encephalopathy, and liver cancer. With the heartfelt, lifesaving gift of life from my hero, my donor, I won my battle. I was given the opportunity during my illness to write my prayers, feelings, and emotions. It was indeed a long journey. Writing my book was my sanctuary. I found peace by expressing how I was feeling while I was dying.
