A great book to add to one's home library of baseball books. The author's passion and love for the game of baseball is reflected throughout his writings. The author carefully brings back, and appropriately reflects upon, an era when the actual game itself created the real entertainment for fans (unlike all of the required sideshows of today's game to bring in the fans ). The result, the author argues, is the creation of mystical stories advanced by players, sports writers, and fans alike in that era, as a way to make baseball come alive in the heart of fans throughout the year. It's no doubt that the author is a true fan of the game, and the phrase that most likely hits home is: "Wait till next year!!"
