THE EYE OF VENUS

Hello! I am Lawrence Martin Cooper. I was born in Central Ohio, but have lived in several states and abroad. I am a graduate of Suffolk University in Boston, with a major in Philosophy. I was employed in International Banking for many years, and, when I tired of that, I worked in the field of Education—mainly Test Development. My writing skills were honed in courses at the Boston Center for Adult Education and the Harvard University Continuing Education Program. Today, nearing eighty years of age, I am back in Central Ohio—not a bad place to be. I spend my days writing, gardening, reading, listening to music—Classical and New Age—and meditating. I am a Buddhist, an eclectic, engaged Buddhist. The story of the Eye of Venus, I began working on many years ago, and put aside many times, as my preferred form of writing is Poetry. A collection of my poetry is published by Xlibris and is entitled ‘In the Course of Things’. But I finally got my act together on this trilogy. I call it (soft) Sci-Fi/Fantasy, as science and history are the background, not the story. The story is of a quest for an emerald, a special emerald. This emerald was once part of a device that could transport beings inter-realm. The main competitors are Satanic forces, and a secret organization of the Catholic Church, known as Probono Dei.
