About the Book
Sitting on the verandah with my wife, I told her about the trip in a lot more detail starting from day one when I got dropped off at the track leading to the village to finally rafting to the jetty five days later. I was basically reliving the ordeal as I narrated the story and it gave me a big sense of relief to be back in the safety of home again. Over the months we had made enough profit to offset the losses incurred by abandoning half of the stuff that I has taken to the villages which I had to leave behind when I made the hasty escape from the terror encounter at one of the villages. In the next few days, I intend to make a definitive decision about whether I am going to carry on with the business only covering the nearby villages and settlements. Something that had crossed my mind during the ordeal, and which has been constantly running at the back of my mind, was to build a small shop adjoining the house. This, if it eventuates will be great as the family will be able to help out and I will not have to travel all this places to do the selling. The only trip it will entail, will be to go and get the supplies from Mr. Patel in town.
