About the Author

Peter Maer covered the White House from Presidents Carter to Obama.  The veteran CBS News correspondent has traveled to all 50 states and more than 70 countries.  His honors include: five Merriman Smith Awards for Presidential Coverage Under Deadline Pressure, the Edward R. Murrow Award, Interfaith Alliance Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award and Society of Professional Journalists Hall of Fame.
