About the Book

Aaldworf the dog lives in a lovely garden with his friends Jimmy the parrot and Pedro the hedgehog. Aaldworf often entertains his friends with stories, and now is the time for another wonderful one – a story about his father Conan and one of his greatest adventures. Conan lives with his master, a ranger, on the edge of a beautiful forest. One day, Conan and his master leave their safe, cosy cottage to find the Big Rainbow. The rainbow has been gone for a long time, and without it, there has been no rain and the land has become very, very dry. In their quest to find the Big Rainbow and bring rain back to the land, Conan and his master head into the unknown on a journey that becomes increasingly perilous. With Conan’s smarts, and the help of the unusual people and creatures they meet along the way, they manage to overcome the odds and set free the Big Rainbow that had been locked up in a castle far away. „Conan’s fantastic travels: The Big Rainbow” is the story of courage, strength, faith and success. As a short chapter book it is excellent for children who are ready to read longer stories, and with many hand painted illustrations by renowned Romanian illustrator Octavia Taralunga it is also perfect for being read aloud to younger children.

About the Author

George Cristinel Dumitrache was born in 1970 and grew up in Bucharest, Romania. He now lives with his wife Adina in the city of Auckland in the „ land of the long white cloud”, otherwise known as New Zealand. George worked for many years in Romania as a journalist in print, radio and television. He enjoys writing, especially fiction, and likes to mix reality with fantasy. George loves kids and animals, enjoys watching comedy movies and walking. He also loves to talk, listen to good music and play sport. This book is dedicated to Conan, his beloved dog who was his friend for a wonderful 12 years.
