About the Book

This book is designed with one purpose in mind. I wanted to engage the reader: not only with the poems but to unlock the minds potential to create freely their own interpretation of what the poem is trying to convey to them. By listening and discussing with them certain aspects of the poem they can create a picture in their mind as to how the characters in the poem will come to life. With the aid of this book: children will learn to utilize their brain to its full potential and create wonderful things for all to share and enjoy.

About the Author

My name is Shirley Evelyn Charlton-Ayers, My husband is a retired farmer from Mid Canterbury and my daughter Joy is a graphic designer. My youngest child Eric is six years old and attends Waipa Primary School. I have a Diploma in Child Psychology. For a number of years I have worked in the educational system as a teacher assistant. I have seen many children struggle to keep up with their peers and I want to be able to build up their confidence so that they can take their place at the head of the class and eventually in society.
