About the Author

A. Valdone Crook, who holds her B.Ed. and her M.Ed. from two different countries and continents, was born of war torn refugee migrant parents who themselves left Lithuania empty-handed post World War II in hopes of settling in a safer multi-cultural Canada. She, too, immigrated, not as a result of war but for love with a crate of belongings to find an English speaking culture of “They’re a Weird Mob” in language and humour—dive in the water’s fine!—Australia. Another two decades later A. Valdone Crook migrated with her entire family with a cargo load of goods to set up home in Eastern Europe. One would think the perfect history for this venture! Today she has settled back down under and has resumed her career in education sharing her life experiences to captive audiences. It is these recollections that are retold within the pages of What More Can I Say? . . . Plenty!
