About the Book
“In Search of Eternity” is a collection of poems brought about as inspirations after meditations or reflections. The book presents these inspirations with the aim of igniting within the heart of the reader, the essential beauty that resides within every person. While certain words are drawn from within the Hindu context, the poems are not specific to any one religion, yet common to all as it draws on the common thread of love and purity that is the essence of religion. The poetry does not reflect the orthodox views and practices within most religions, yet its ideas are common to all. Many of the words and teachings of the Christ maybe seen peeking out from verses while the sentiments of the Sufi Saints of Islam maybe felt within certain lines. The Hindu approach and philosophies are central to much of the poems while it also has ideas from Buddhism and Judaism. The ideas behind these poems were not deliberately formed but have come about through a focus on the essence and sentiment of spirituality rather than any specific religious texts. Even though these poems find a basis within spirituality, the author wishes the reader to take these writing for their ‘feel good’ value and not used as spiritual teachings as there are far more competent works in religion and far more well qualified spiritual individuals and saints that are able to impart knowledge. The author considers himself grossly unqualified and incompetent in the task of spirituality, but still wishes to share these inspirations as reflections and insights that may appeal to the pure and simple hearts of fellow seeks after the Divine. If there is one spiritual theme that traverses the entire book, it is that there is one Truth, and that Truth is the essence of all existence; that this existence is one and its nature is love. This Truth is God, and the goal of all life, from humans as the highest, to the lowest single cell organisms, is to sway under the attraction of that Truth, and ultimately reach Him.
