About the Book

This book is a unique guide to the Ottoman/Islamic history of Greece. It wants to correct the negative image of the ‘bloodthirsty’ and ‘evil’ Turk and to show what the Ottoman Empire was really all about! Why is Greece hiding 5 centuries of its history? Whenever the Ottomans are mentioned, their entire rule was ‘barbaric, backwards, and suppressive’. What is true and what is a lie? What is pure nationalistic propaganda and what is fact? What have the Ottomans left behind and what can there still be visited? Dive into this undiscovered and forgotten heritage of Greece!
