About the Book

Memories are precious, but they only recall the pertinent facts. How can one hold the poignancy of the feelings you felt deep inside. The author chose to keep hers by writing them down in a poetic form. Maybe someone else, by reading these poems, will find they can relate to these feelings and gain comfort and pleasure.

About the Author

Patricia Bennett was born in South Yorkshire and left there in 1938 to go with parents to live in the outskirts of Birmingham. In 1941, after losing her home in a German bombing raid the family moved back to West Yorkshire. By the time she was sixteen, she was working as a secretary, had met her future husband and was a vocalist in a semi-professional Big Band. She married and had two children, then decided to change her career and became a mature student at a Teacher Training College, a branch of Leeds University and qualified as a teacher in 1974. Widowed after 57 years of marriage, she is now in her 81st year.
