My Shadow

About the Book

The title of my book, My Shadow, is just a title to some people but to me it means “Hell”. I feel like I’m in control of myself and then there’s times when it feels like the shadow is in control. I get these horrible ideas of how I will kill the shadow but then reality strikes, the shadow will never die or go away. I’m slowly dying and my brain is already dying cell by cell, and there is nothing any doctor can do to stop it. That is why I thought it’s time to reveal the real person who is me and not the shadow. Many people out in the world are suffering from this illness, let’s help each other over come our shadow. We too have a life, so why not live it? We can still do normal things I don’t see why we have to be afraid to face the world. Many epileptic patients feel the way I do but they don’t know how to express their feelings. I’m a thirty-year old female and I’m sitting with a life-long scar…. Epilepsy. This is my story….

About the Author

La-eeqah Forbes has been writing poems and short stories since the age of fifteen. Her inspiration to write this book came from a life time of living with epilepsy .She has inspired many people to go after their dreams. Regardless of her situation she manages to motivate other young people in the local communities .Epilepsy has been part of her life for than thirty years. No one in this world is alone and no matter what obstacles you face you can still achieve your goals.
