About the Book

· The Ring Of The Islander sparks the beginning of the long journey of Davin Reeds, an orphaned boy and aspiring fisherman who found a unique ring. Though he stayed clear of danger, and wished only a simple, satisfying life, he was already the target of Mengen Rale, the ruthless and bloodthirsty Lord of a dark army that spewed forth from the Backlands, where no man had tread for centuries.

Davin’s life is changed dramatically when his long lost brother comes for him and takes him off the vast island of beauty known as Vellia, and goads him into the war-torn rebellion-in-progress of the southern lands of Yallis. Battling against Lord Rale’s second in command, Risick Kien, a cruel, unfeeling, man who lives to profit himself, he learns his part and what he must do in order to save his homeland of Vellia and end the war.

The books of Magic hold the key to the world forgotten and Rale is scourging the Frontlands in search of the four books and the fifth and most dangerous book, the Book of Change. With the assistance of a female rebel captain, Vessiana, and a strong, intelligent General, Davin fights to reclaim what was once the free kingdoms of Yallis.

In Teranor, the sister continent, a small group of rebels in the Mengen capital begin organizing a plan which cannot be executed without finding the man with the ring. Journeying through climactic battles in Airedyne, and dodging bounty hunters in the mountain valleys, they find a Mengen campsite where something odd is happening.

In the first book of the Divided Children Chronicles, Ring Of The Islander, follow the heroes of the Frontlands as they come to realize their true potential, while others reveal their true greed and cowardice, and the beginning of the massive quest unfolds.

About the Author

· Jason Brandenburg was born on Long Island and published his first book The Third Guardian at age twenty-two. After High School and a lackluster journey through college and ample warehouse employment experiences, he turned to computers. He is a computer programmer and website designer who, now at age twenty-four, has completed a sequel of sorts to his first book with The Ring Of The Islander. He plans two more books to finish the trilogy while keeping his work as a computer programmer and website developer from fading from mind. He still resides in New York and hopes write many more stories to follow in the future.
