About the Book
May 8, 1945 is more than just the end of a world war. It is an intertwining of destinies. For Viktor Kôvári, a Hungarian werewolf who has eliminated Satan’s chosen one, the date represents the promise of a punishment contrived in hell. For a young American woman named Isabelle Montgomery Harris it marks an encounter with a vampire that fosters an obsession.
Three years pass, during which Isabelle inherits an ailing vineyard and winemaking business from an uncle she never knew she had. She solicits elusive wine tycoon Antonio Viano to help her restore the business to its former prominence, unknowing that her new partner has a lethal alter ego. One cold January night Isabelle uncovers Antonio’s dark secret, when a freak accident pulls her from her fairy tale world into his, and she’s made a werewolf as he is.
Isabelle journeys with Antonio to Hungary, to the hub of the werewolf community to meet her new brethren and come to terms with what she’s become. When Isabelle meets Viktor, the Lord of the Wolves, the attraction is mutual and instantaneous, but all hopes for a relationship are dashed when it’s discovered that Isabelle is the prophesized White Wolf, unwittingly sent from Satan to bring about his ruin. Bewitched by Isabelle’s innocence and beauty, Viktor falls in love with her and risks the prophecy to be with her. When Viktor is unable to offer Isabelle the commitment she needs, she flees the relationship and Hungary.
Once Isabelle is free of Viktor’s influence, Satan begins nurturing the seed he’s planted to reap revenge on the Wolf King, and Isabelle is delivered into the clutches of the one creature Viktor detests above all others—a vampire.
Enthralled by this vampire, Philippe, Isabelle invites him into her home, and he entangles himself in her life in a way she can’t easily undo. By the time Isabelle realizes she has grossly underestimated the intensions of the vampire, she has committed a crime, not only unspeakable in the eyes of the wolven community, but one punishable by death—by Viktor’s hand.
