In The Trouble with Youth Sports, Paul Votano declares that unless immediate attention is given to a rash of problems that currently exist in the world of organized youth sports, as a nation, we are in danger of losing a very valuable national resource. Based upon his more than three decades as a parent, coach and administrator, he addresses these issues head-on and calls for committed parents, trained coaches and dedicated volunteers to step forward and meet the challenges now facing youth sports programs everywhere. Drawing upon both his broad experience in the field as well as his in-depth research, Mr. Votano offers solutions to many of his concerns in this timely and riveting book.
A graduate of New York University, Paul Votano is also the author of Westchester County: New York’s Golden Apple, the story of one of America’s most affluent and diverse areas. He recently currently at work on completed a new book on how the art of relief pitching evolved in major league baseball called "Oh, What A Relief It Is," due for publication in the spring of 2002. A resident of Yonkers, New York, he founded his own agency there, Votano Marketing Communications, in 1988.
