About the Book
Small-town Southern Illinois was not as boring as it sounds. Every day brought a new challenge, and usually, something to cry over or laugh at. I didn’t always see the funny side then, but I do now.
When I was a small child, I believed I had a guardian angel watching over me, protecting me from trouble. Later, after many near-disasters, I began to doubt. her devotion, even her existence. How it all worked out and what I learned along the way is what this book is about.
As I was writing this memoir, I sometimes laughed and sometimes cried. But that’s what a life is made of, after all.
