About the Book
Steve Berman has it all—an MBA, a fast-paced job in Manhattan, and a pretty girlfriend he just might marry someday. But he loses his job just before leaving for a visit to his parents in Florida, and while there he accepts a job with a slightly mixed-up real estate developer building a new shopping center at the edge of the Everglades. His cousins, the Blatnicks, begin to descend on Miami as winter approaches, catching Steve up in problems that are equal parts stupidity and plain bad luck. His life on the construction site is no better, though; as he fumbles through learning a new job and a new way of working, he finds that Blatnicks (real and honorary) are everywhere, and they all seem out to get him. No matter how Steve struggles, he can’t keep his two worlds apart, and when they begin to converge, comic complications ensue.
