About the Book

It´s a great adventure for Heidi and Benson. They have never been allowed to run without supervision their entire lives. In the case of Heidi, there is a good reason for it. She has a knack of getting into trouble. She is a huge Doberman, young and overly curious about everything. However, she is not very gracious because she believes everything in the world is hers - that is until she decides she doesn´t want it.

Benson, on the other hand, is cute, cuddly and really doesn´t pay much attention to the world as a whole unless it´s affecting him personally. He also believes the world revolves around him, unless Heidi is in the way.

Between the two of them, finding trouble is easy.

There is also a wonderful world apart in the field and the canal. There are animals that know how to survive without harming others. They have been gradually creating a community that rely on each others help, heal their wounded and sick, and preserves their food supply.

Led by Sh´Una and Tormac, long-eared rabbits who, seasons before, escaped from a testing laboratory that enhanced their capabilities beyond their captor´s wildest dreams and Pocaal, a venerable ground squirrel who is healer to all. There is also Popocaal, grandson to Pocaal, young, courageous, and curious to know more about the world, which tests his courage to the max.

It takes but a day for them all to be drawn together in a tense drama. It´s Gorge, the hated fox, who brings them together, and one of them pays a heavy toll.
