About the Book
While I was in the Service from 1942 to 1945 I wrote over 250 letters to a girlfriend, she had saved them and in 1999 she returned the letters to me. From these letters I was able to rewrite the daily routine and thoughts of a young soldier in World War II. I was recalled to duty in 1950 and spent seven months in Korea and at such time I kept a diary. I also have a copy of my Company and Regimental combat records. From these sources and my memory, I wrote this book.
About the Author
I have been marriage to Mary R. Norris for fifty- seven years. During this period Mary has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for the last fifty years. This is the story and her medical records of those forty-seven years at home and the last three years at the Jameson Care Center. Her family has had to make only minor adjustments to match each stage of her illness. We were able to remodel our home to adjust to each stage of her mobility. As we look back, we have lived a near normal life.
