About the Book

The kingdoms of Marlor and Cerli are locked in a gruesome battle whose origin reaches back through time to the forging of the magical blade of the Everset. This blade holds the secret of ultimate power. Whoever holds it will control all under its power. The blade has been missing for centuries. Each kingdom believes that the other has it in their possession.

Karista is just one girl caught up in the war. Her role is small, as a Marlorian princess awaiting her betrothal and living her life as always, until one night she is kidnapped by a man of Cerli and held for a ransom her father won’t pay. She is whisked into a kingdom that is nothing like her home, where she is looked on with suspicion and fear because of her knowledge of magic. In Cerli she is looked on as a witch.

Kev’s expectations for a captive princess did nothing to prepare him for Karista. She is nothing like the witch that he was told to expect. He is astonished to find his interest turning into compassion and friendship before his eyes.

A dark cloud is growing on the horizon. Soon Karista and Kev find themselves face to face with the darkest form of magic…and their greatest fears.

At last they come face to face with the Everset itself and the Keeper, a dark being that has turned the blade’s magic for its own purpose. In order to save their kingdoms they must decide to fight. But, in fighting, the consequences are greater than either could ever have expected.
