She earned a B.A. in Bilingual/ESL Education & Interdisciplinary Studies. She has been teaching since Spring’96. Marie Elena is a person who is constantly learning from books, people, and especially from her students. Children inspire her to learn, think, and be creative. She is dynamic, self motivated and very creative. Her goal is to help students to shine and be the best they can be. Helping students become successful is her passion! In 2003, she published her first children’s book titled: My Annoying Little Brother. Summer of 2005, she created Kids Write to Know, a writing club that helps students improve their reading and writing skills. Her mission is to empower communities with knowledge. She enjoys collaborating with non-profit organizations and community leaders, so she can inspire more children to become responsible and productive citizens.
