Welcome to Brooker's World, where the reality of life takes on a journey that matches some aspects of Northland author Alan Brooker's tales of science fiction, fantasy, the occult and adventure.
A reporter for the Otago Daily Times in Dunedin when he left school, he eventually joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force, where he spent twenty years, but he never stopped writing - for magazines and newspapers commercially while still pursuing his other loves of sports and photography. He is a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, and a life member of the Wellington Badminton Association.
His secret worlds of fantasy and adventure were put into words, to become his novels of the past, present and future.
He writes from his base in northern New Zealand, sometimes distracted by vistas of forest and sea, but always planning his next project.
In his spare time, he sleeps.
