About the Book

In a world where technology and magic are intertwined, a great peril lurks deep beneath the reaches of the earth. Nemesis, black knight and sage of untruth, uses the power of her ancient sword to resurrect the demon god Varkus. Foreseeing the danger that is to come, the high elf Astfirie calls upon Lumina, goddess of the Light, to aid her in preventing the Dark One's unholy return.

    To the surprize of the planet's guardian, the one destined to balance the forces of Light and Darkness has brought himself to beleive that they no longer exist.  He is none other than Alexander Stratus, a young misfit residing in the icy town of Forlorn. Not knowing of the ancient struggle taking place beneath his very feet, the youth attempts to enjoy his last night in his hometown with the girl he has loved his entire life. She is his greatest accomplishment and his greatest failure, and he eventually begins to believe that he is unworthy of her.

    Needing an escape from the town that he despises and the girl that he desperately desires, Alexander takes up his grandfather's sword and leaves to join the Tempest Knights.  Partaking in a journey that spans the entire continent of the Blood Moon, the young knight finally meets up with his destiny.  Trained to oppose the demonic Varkus by the warrior monk Omen, Alexander will one day engage in a grueling battle that will shake the thresholds of Heaven and Hell as the powers of Light make their stand against Darkness- but can a mere mortal hope to defeat a god?

Daniel Pike is a graduating senior at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He got his start writing fan fiction online and later moved to writing seriously on his own. He resides in Chandler, Arizona, with his father James, his mother Joanne, his brothers Thomas and Timothy, and his sister Sara. While not writing or at school, he enjoys reading novels by Michael Crichton and Stephen King, collecting swords, watching anime, and spending time with his fiance, Aerith.
