Ruth’s Crossing answers these questions as it follows Ruth from 1913 to 1955, exploring the woman Ruth in greater detail than the movie script allowed. Two developments - one tragic and the other shocking - cast Ruth into a dizzying turmoil of self-doubt and guilt, even ten years after she believed she lost her daughter at sea. Only a death and a discovered life can forge new strength for Ruth, and the courage to be able to find an inner peace she nearly attained so long ago.

Ruth’s Crossing is a celebration of love and family and friendship, and how four people profoundly affected one woman’s search for her own identity.

About the Author

J.C. Wilcan considers herself and avid reader, an eager writer, a hobbyist painter and a dedicated wife and mother. Educated in the sciences at university, yet encouraged by professors to pursue creative writing, Ms. Wilcan has since settled into a quiet though active life in beautiful, rural New Hampshire with her husband and two sons, opting to use the pseudonym for anonymity.
