About the Book

Three adults, who didn’t know that it would be this much fun, celebrate their roles as grandparents.  In one-hundred take-a-turn essays a priest, a writer, and a veteran teacher record the best, and worst, moments in the first five years in the life of their grandson and the first two of his little brother.   Baby boomers who are already second-generation veterans will nod in agreement and wince in recognition at this trios well-meant missteps.  Those with the announcement featuring little pink or blue booties in hand but who are yet to experience the joys and jolts ahead will gain knowledge of the road about to be taken.  Who would have thought it would be this much different from parenting?  Who would have thought that in your mature years you would dance in the rain, become a dinosaur, or turn into Goldilocks?

About the Author

Hank and Ruth Harbaugh are the actual grandparents, but Father Jim Harbaugh, Hank’s brother, is the virtual grandfather to two little boys, the first grandchildren of the new generation. All three love their roles and share their experiences and what they have learned this second time around with those who have just received the announcement, those who have already made this second lap, and the new parents who are wondering what the people who raised them are up to. Hank is a second career travel writer. Ruth is a second grade school teacher and expert in children’s literature who shares her best books and activities. Uncle Jim is the Scholar in Residence at a law school, but he would rather be playing dinosaurs
