About the Book
FIRST, the SUBJECT (above) should read, FICTION AND NON-FICTION and the author, E.M. Nolbay
SLEEPLESS IN STORYLAND is a small book -- only 136 pages. But as they say, "good things come in small packages -- and sometimes pack a powerful punch."... SLEEPLESS is such a book.
It is a potpurri of vignettes (stories, essays and reflections) taken from life. . . A number of the stories are spinoffs from the book, AMERICA GONNIF, and its sequel. Although some are true, others are transformed and a few are purely fiction.
The essays run the gamut of observations and opinions. The reflections are an attempt at philosophizing -- wandering from reality to fantasy; from erotica to the sublime, and ends with a compilation of letters -- and even a lesson in finance.
"Amazing," "stimulating and provocative," "couldn´t stop reading" are some of the accolades by early reviewers. Another who read the first seven pages remarked, "There is plenty of knowledge around but not enough wisdom. Here, there is wisdom."
Testimonials:
"I really enjoyed reading your book very much. It is something like "Tuesdays With Morrie". . . What is there to life if we don´t discover a new mystery. . . it has a fresh and fluid style, . . . Hope we do the book and enjoy the process together."

About the Author
He has enjoyed many varied and successful careers: An athlete, master carpenter, contractor, builder and a developer -- and then, of all things, a lawyer. In 1982, he retired to the beach community of Mandalay Shores, California, and is more active than ever, with another calling as a financial advisor and a volunteer Pro-Bono Emeritus Attorney for his County Bar Association. When he is not writing or exercising, he spends his idle hours reading current events and commenting -- and has opinions on everything. Some of them are contained in the “LETTERS” section of the book.
