About the Book

After interviewing over a dozen people from all walks of life, they all agreed that at one time in their life, they felt important and in total control.  Everything was under control.  A great job, great family, the future was unlimited and nothing could or would get in the way.  Then, without warning, one disastrous event occurred after another.  Everything that could go wrong, did.  

T. PHOL is a fictionalized story largely based upon actual events experienced by the author, some produced by wishful thinking, and some parts of the story just wrote themselves (aided by the author’s fingers on the computer).  

After being in the video production business over thirty years, I felt that it was time to move into another direction.  The creativity and excitement of video production was always enjoyable, and never dull.  At least, not until recently.  After hearing constant complaints about my hourly rate, and requests to lower the quality of work, I began to have serious doubts about remaining in my chosen profession.  In addition, it seems as though every had a camcorder and was an expert.

One of my last production shoots was for the Arizona Consulting Engineers Association.  It was for their annual awards presentation. For the past ten years, the association would choose the top projects for the year and I would write a short script about the project, go to site, edit the video footage into a two to three minute presentation.  It was during a video shoot on a project at Marble Canyon which affected me in a profound spiritual way.

This spiritual feeling was developed over time from my grade school days at a Roman Catholic parochial school, then I was led to the Presbyterian belief by my ex-wife.  I then joined a Congregational Church, and finally found a home with New Visions Spiritual Growth Center, which is affiliated with the Science of Mind philosophy.  Along this spiritual journey, I was deeply affected by writings of  Richard Bach, James Redfield, and I complimented these studies with Robert Jastrow’s study of the universe in his book Red Giants and White Dwarfs and the

studies of Maxwell Maltz in his book Psychocybernetics.  

Combining the spiritual and the practical has led me to the conclusions drawn in the final chapters of T. PHOL.

About the Author

K. George Hetrick began his formal training in television production at Indiana State University (it was Indiana State College at that time). During his last two years on campus, he worked part-time at a the local television station. Upon graduation, he first full time job was at a television station in Phoenix, Arizona, then Chicago, Illinois, and Moline, Illinois. Having never liked the cold, George and his wife and daughter Jennifer, packed up the car and a trailer and moved back to Phoenix in 1968. Shortly after arriving in Phoenix, George became the audio-visual and video director for an international education training center. Eleven years later, George Hetrick and Associates was formed.. After writing hundreds of video scripts, George prefers to be an author. Using his creative imagination, George co-mingles his writing with his spirituality nurtured by his church- New Visions Spiritual Growth Center.
