About the Book
My goal in painting is to create a composition that is pleasing, but I allow the public to have their own esthetic value. Also, individuals tend to view objects in the realm of their own experience, and this makes it diffi cult to perfect how someone will regard a work. Rather, I paint in order to experience a feeling of lightheartedness, for I know that my energy is being spent on creation, and the humdrum and gloom of life is held in a state of temporary suspension. I choose subjects to paint that have an essence of joy and beauty. By my choice of colors, I attempt to produce the feeling of delight obtained from special experiences that are agreeable. I believe life is an ever- lasting festival. Some come to a festival to compete, some to play their trade, others come as spectators.
