About the Book

It is 1989. Boxer is a whiskey-soaked ex-cop, out of work and out of luck when a stranger throws him a bone: Find a murderer and a missing model.  The trail leads Boxer through a labyrinth of crooked lawyers, an insurance scam, a shady land deal, organized crime and a Colombian drug lord in a city where coke is king and life is cheap.  This is the book that introduces Boxer and his Los Angeles.  The two are inextricably connected.  The pulse of the city courses through his veins.  He is its conscience.  It is his soul.

About the Author

Steven Mann was born in 1991, at the age of forty two. He has worked as a bartender, cab driver, disc jockey, advertising artist and copywriter as well as an award-winning graphic designer. Currently, an itinerant drunk, Steven is working on the third Boxer novel, emerging as a captivating writer in the tradition of Raymond Chandler, Robert B. Parker and Lawrence Block, (with a little Mickey Spillane and Charles Bukowski thrown in for good measure).
