Did you ever meet one of those people who seem to get themselves into a preposterous situation at every turn of events? Well, meet the Sumo Chemist (the author). In forty years of traveling, he has gotten himself into trouble all over the world. He gets hopelessly locked into a hotel bathroom in New Jersey, is snake-bit by a cactus (!) in Texas, and tries mercilessly to squeeze himself and his two kids into the back of a Japanese mini-cab … that´s like getting three sumo wrestlers into a sardine can!

Now he´s decided to share his madcap adventures with you, his readers, and, perhaps, figure out why crazy things like these happen.

"Adventures of a Sumo Chemist" contains a playful combination of humor, autobiography, travel, and even a little philosophy. All this is rolled up into an enjoyable reading experience for just about anyone.

About the Author

Leon B. Levy, a retired research chemist, worked 37 years for a major chemical company. Born and brought up in the Bronx, he attended the Bronx High School of Science, New York University, and Harvard University, where he earned his doctorate in chemistry. He emigrated to Corpus Christi, Texas, in l962 and has been a damn Yankee ever since. (Yankees visit Texas and go back home; damn Yankees don’t leave)! His business travels have taken him all over the world to settings for many of the humorous situations he describes in “Adventures of a Sumo Chemist. Bird watching, classical music, and travel keep Leon out of trouble … sometimes.
